Our business is to grow forests and use the gifts of those forests in Hokkaido, which has one-quarter of the forest resources in Japan.

We develop the management and cultivation businesses for Nippon Paper-owned forests with an area of 43,000 hectares in Hokkaido and the business of handling papermaking chips from raw wood harvested from the forests throughout Hokkaido.

All forests across Japan owned by Nippon Paper have acquired the SGEC (Sustainable Green Ecosystem Council) forest certification. Our role is the sound cultivation of forests for the future and to contribute to the improvement of the diverse value of those forests, such as CO2 fixation to prevent global warming, preservation of the national land, fostering of the local culture, and the rest and recuperation for preservation of health, preservation of biodiversity through the business that effectively uses trees, which are a renewable resource.
